The goal of the thesis project is to create a new app for the National Park Service (NPS). The primary focus of this app is to improve the Boston Freedom Trail site as a case study in UX/UI design. The new Find Your Park app will provide more efficient and effective functionality for the user utilizing a simple interface, easy to understand graphics, and clean menus for enhanced user interaction. The app is a free and comprehensive guide to all public and national parks.
Besides complete site information with audio and video some of the other features include: The application is offered in six different languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese and Korean). It has a built-in GPS to show the user’s location and live position on a site, the user will know their position at all times and never get lost again. The application will also allow users to purchase tickets and passes in as little as two taps, and store them right in the app for easy access when they are needed. The Find Your Park app is the best way to explore public and national parks, learning about the sites historical past, all using only one device.
